I can't read that here, but as an aside on the speed limit thing. The posted speed is posted by law. Complaining about being tagged for breaking that law would be similar to complaining that you only winged someone, not actually shot them.
I do go over the posted limit at times, to be sure. I just have difficulty blaming someone else because I chose to do it.

It gets large groups through safely and intact.

Each and every person to whom those officers have ever written a speeding ticket to needs to receive a letter in the mail stating something to the effect of: "NJ State Patrol Officer Bob Whatshisname issued you a citation for speeding 41 in a 35 mph zone Oct 11, 2011. This letter is to inform you that Officer Whatshisname will be present at the Atlantic City Public Safety Center this coming Monday at 9:00 AM so that you may come kick him in the groin."

I'll tell you how this all works. Having seen it myself many times.

First off the NJSP are a bunch of knuckleheads to begin with. Even other coppers dont like them. But some big Boss or Politician likes to Hobnobb with Athletes, sports owners, movie stars, and assorted rich people who have such cars. So they Lean on their "guy" in the Police Dept., who Leans on his guy, who picks out "their" guys, to run front and rear for this cavalcade of fools who put thousands of people, who actually work, at risk OTW to their annual gambling vacation race down the Highway.

They will find a fall guy to take the heat but he'll be quiet and taken care of later. He'll catch 15 days or so, if that, but it'll be made up for him. Everyone involved is a made guy and Govt. and Police Depts can be very forgiving to "made guys". Now they are hoping for a fast news day to get this story off the front page. Meanwhile honest working coppers, the ones with no connections, get stepped on for the least infractions. The public isnt smart enough to figure out how systemic corruption works and just finds it easier to hate anyone in a perma-press uniform.

For us to chase nowadays it has to be an extremely serious offense like murder or kidnapping. I cant even begin to imagine what was going on in the mind of the idiot who dreamt this up. Or the idiot Police commander who was so afraid of losing his spot in the "club" he allowed it to happen.

There is no way this would fly in our agency.  I could climb up on my soap box and rant, but I am probally better off not doing so.  The really sad truth is that at the minimum there is a watch commander or mid level supervisor that won't take the rap.  It will be somebody else that takes the punch.
