Not really sure what class of metal this falls into, but Katatonia is a recent favorite of mine. They remind me quite a bit of Opteh, just not quite as death metal-ish.

I worked with the Bass Player of this Band up until two months ago.   Now, they have a 5 record Deal with Metal Blade Records and a US Tour.

They held the Top Spot for 6 weeks on the XM/Sirius Liquid Metal Top 10.

Nightwish sounds like Trans Siberian Orchestra to me.

Im not a fan of songs that are heavy one moment then all lalala with the vocals.

Slayer is the metal that Im into, although I havent been all that into metal in a long time.

I'm more into the Big 4 music (minus Anthrax...just never liked them).

There's too many songs to even list, but here's a few of my favorites

Great Nightwish Cover (Netta Skog FTW) --  She also looks hotter than hell drenched in blood and bear skins.

Not a fan of the vocals, but the guitar in this is sweet, great guitar solo:

Better throw some Bal Sagoth in here for good measure:

For me, this is what currently has my attention. As a whole the album sums up pretty well where metal is right now.
