why yes, because we really enjoy getting wiped out in a paper airplanes. I'll take ETO any day, atleast we have half a chance!

Ignorant remarks such as the one above are part of the reason many folks who have seemingly never read a book believe just that. When in reality that was far from the truth.

Some in my squad believe that signing up to fly one of those POS German death traps is a waste of time. I tend to try and correct that attitude with some history and truth vs spewing anecdotal B.S.

2011 - Jan -  EF - Götterdämmerung
2011 - Feb - PTO - Dillinger's Wake  Ship vs. ship battle was a great addition
2011 - Mar -  MED - Tunisia   Forced GV battle was a drag.
2011 - Apr -  PTO - Ketsu-Go    Shoehorned into FSO schedule with introduction of the B-29
2011 - May - CBI - Burma Backwater   Poor timing as current AH Scenerio was nearly identical and 3rd PTO setup in 4 months
2011 - Jun -  EF - Mannerheim Cross
2011 - Jul -   MED - Baytown
2011 - Aug - ETO - Decision in Dunkirk
2011 - Sep - ETO - Across The Rhine
2011 - Oct -  PTO - Scratch One Flattop!
2011 - Nov - EF - Red Guards Crimea
2011 - Dec - MED - Adler Krieg
2012 - Jan -  ETO - Normandy Summer
2012 - Feb -  PTO - Fire In The Sky  Setup was nearly identical to "Scratch One Flattop"
2012 - Mar -  ETO - The Eighth Comes Over  110 rocket rule needed some tweaking
2012 - Apr -  MED - Out Of The Sun
2012 - May - ETO - Battle Of Britain  Nearly identical planeset as previous FSO, "Out of the Sun"

Backed up schedule to show all of 2011. Made some notations of issues to illustrate where improvements to FSO could be made. Most issues were related to scheduling and balancing of available theaters of operation.

my opinions are based on my flight time in the FSO, not any book or real life. its not a ignorant remark, but rather one based on my experiences. i agree to disagree, but every time i fly pto, my squad gets shredded. not saying that they're(paper planes) better or worse, just that i prefer ETO to PTO. calling it an ignorant remark isn't nice nor necessary. uneducated might have been a better term to use.  :salute

Jaeger, the biggest problem with useing "your experience" to define a theater or planeset is that there are many variables at play that dictate success or failure long before the battle becomes plane vs. plane. Remember, in FSO there are CiCs who assign planes and white a battleplan. Is your CiC assigning planes based on who is best in what, or on who flew what last? Do they know the strengths and weaknesses of the available planes? What squad(s) are you flying with on your mission? Are they competent in their aircraft? Will they follow the mission, or abandon you to claim glory for themselfs? Is the mission thoughtfully planned? Then ask those same questions about your enemy.

I withhold judgement on BoB until the HE-111 and DO-17 are added to the planeset.

Outside of the absence of the Heinkel and the Dornier, It is one of the most balanced setups in FSO when managed properly.

But I do agree, they are sorely missed over many FSO's and Scenarios.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

in the AVA i use Betty's for HE111's. while not the same, due to the flame factor and the 20mm guns, they're kinda close in a weird sort of way. if i only had a luftwaffe skin for the Betty's......

the only real problem with the BoB setups is that the Ju-88s are too fast.  The British planes get one head on pass if lucky, and then its a tail chase and easy pickings.

Actually there is a highly effective BnZ weaving pattern that does quite a bit of damage while keeping on top of the 88's.  It's hard though, does take some dedicated training and practice, and a good scout to find those pesky buggers so the pattern can be set up.

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

Viper...Outstanding vision on this one, per our joint orders you hit the nail on the head!

FSO Admin...I speak for my entire squad when I say Bravo Zulu to you all... all of us look forward to each and every one of these scenarios and yes sometimes we end up in the tower early but its about the experience and the camaraderie, nicely done.
