As I pointed out to a couple of guys the other day, this kind of thing is way out of order, start spouting about Nazi's and quite rightly you get jumped on from a great height. Do the same in regards to the Japanese and that's Kosher???  :headscratch:

I will be plain here.

Despite most of the racial "distaste" which I will subject myself to here.

I personally, of all groups of people on this earth, have the highest respect for the Japanese. This new squad, flys the aircraft their nation proudly fought in, and fights to succeed.

^ The Japanese, are polite, courteous, honorable and efficient. And should be welcomed.

Ironic as it is talking about a WW2 game, but the war was over 70 years ago.

It's their $15.

However I have been told that if you pm and utilise words like "Baka" they get angry enough to leave the pack and then you can pick them off one by one.

Some dweeb that only flies Spixteens told me that. DeBrody - excellent judge of character by the way.

I listen and converse on the Japanese vox channel(s) sometimes and the content is like this:

1. They don't insult or talk badly about other players.
2. They enjoy the camaraderie of others on the channel.
3. They don't discuss politics, religion or engage in racial or ethnic bashing or taunting.
4. They treat AH for what it is - a game. They aren't still fighting the war like some others are.
5. Japanese culture is predominately a non-confrontational culture. People talk without arguing.

They understand some of the racial/ethnic taunting and mocking done by some in the arenas, but they ignore it. They understand that stupid people aren't smart enough to comprehend how stupid they are. No one ever wins an argument with a stupid person.

It's not like an idiot is going to suddenly say, "Gee, I never knew that. I've changed my mind." Only smart people have the capacity to change their minds.

Bunch of crybabies in here sometimes over a game.....WTF!?
QFT!
So, you got ganged :ahand You allowed yourself to be placed in the situation :aok
Get dragged to ack? Once again, same.
So, in essence you are mad because a squad is doing what they are supposed to.
Providing wingmen, supporting to kill enemy. Sounds like they should be commended to me.
I am glad and thankful that there are a variety of Cultures. Much we can all learn.
I spent 6 years in Germany, had opportunity to see and appreciate the diversity.
To the Japanese Squads, or any other for that matter  :salute and please ignore the ignorance by a few.

I have talked with them a bit in game, namely with Nekonabe (cat stew) who spoke on behalf of Ahiru (duck) in chat before using romanized japanese - but it is hard to really get a sense of emotion that way.  Mitsu is Japanese and is semi-active on the boards here (but not a member of the fishing coop) so he may be a good person to ask. . .

with regards to the 'crying' - realize that when the fishing coop is active is early day in europe and the server has 80 ~ 100 people online.  During these 'low population' hours when the Americans (who make up a large portion of the game) fights are usually very small scale an there is a stronger sense of respecting 1v1s.  Sure during 300 or 400 population hours you expect a degree of ganging and many pilots (rightfully) fly more conservatively (in 51s/D9s an so on) and many people just accept that.  but in the 'off hours', their style of play is more picking/score whoring/lame and takes away from the overall experience which can be very good.  This is why debrody or myself (and others who fly that tz) are quick to voice our opinions regarding this - namely because we actually fight them while the rest of you sleep.  In a server with 300 people in it, who cares, you just move on to another fight, but when there are 20 people to a side the dynamic is quite different.

So more then crying, its a sense of disappointment.

My experience with the fish heads as well.

But it is their $15, and their right to do whatever they want, however they want to do it.

I found a while back it is better to not care, nothing will come of angst on my part.

P.S. Congratulations on your Coprographia wil3ur,

You know...  I'm somewhat educated and pretty well read...  I'm not ashamed to say that I had to look coprographia up...   :rofl  I was surprised by the definition...  Yuck!

Also, I've had quite a bit of contact with Japanese folks over the years.  Rolex's description of their VoX pretty much mirrors my experiences.  The culture fascinates me, to be honest.  There is much that we could benefit from here in the West.

Some of you boys should be ashamed.

Others are to stupid to feel shame.

:salute To our Japanese brothers, I apologize for the insults and derision thrown your way.  Please, we are not all like that.
