Not only wanted but needed. He-111
« on: May 06, 2012, 10:09:52 AM »
Special Events would greatly benefit from the addition of the He-111.
Battle of Britain is popular in Events, but since the addition of the Stuka nearly 10 years ago I 'think' the plane set has been unchanged.  :old:
Please seriously consider moving this to a front burner for 2012.

Since special events arent especially popular why would you think an underpowered, unable to defend itself, early war bomber would be popular?

The JU-88 is a far more capable bomber and even that isnt popular. Im just wondering thats all.

For 10 years now we are basically stuck with a slow, underarmed EW bomber for the Luftwaffe in the place were 90% of all activity is happening.
I'm seriously going  when the next one to be added will be an even worse one.

Special events are the other half of the game, it's not all about the MA.

It's not all about the SEA either. SEA is an import, but still small part of the game. The Luft bomber set has a more gaping hole than the He 111.

Yes, I would very much like to see a Ju188A-1 added to the game.

Have you ever stepped foot in the SEA during an event?

The Heinkel He-111H would be a very welcome addition for special events.   :aok

They are for me.  :rock

The He-111 would be a fun change up. Since 95% of the Special Events seem to involve the Germans, this plane would see tons of use in it.

As for the MA, well folks aren't gonna be happy until they have the best plane in its class for every country. At least then we could hear the "its not as good as we already have arguments"  :bhead

+1 He-111 (add in the SM-79 with it and make it a combo pack)

Do-17? Hangar queen, but cool to have anyway. Ju-88, He-111, and Do-17 formation is sweet looking.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Do-17 I believe had very short range with a decent bomb load, or Medium range with a very reduced load.

That plus lack of defensive armament, The He-111 is a better value.

Guns: three 7.92 mm MG 15 machine guns (some were fitted with up to five in 1939–1940)
Bombs:
500 kg (1,102 lb) max.
500 kg (1,102 lb) in the main internal bomb bay.
Although a secondary bay of 500 kg (1,102 lb) capacity could be created by removing fuel tanks, this early variant was too underpowered to carry such a large load with acceptable performance.
