Simplified may not be the best term. They present more of a microcosm of a local social dynamic. However, there are many who think it does apply across the whole of the U.S.Best example I cant think of is "King of the Hill". That show accurately depicts any small town in Texas, but only the small towns. Outside of the small towns, life is very different in Texas. However, most people, even in the U.S. think all of Texas is just like that. We all own guns. We all talk funny (ya'll is really not that pervasive in Texas). We are all rednecks and so on.Anyway, proms here are pretty much like they are in any other part of the U.S.
