DUCKS
« on: May 08, 2012, 01:39:38 PM »
after spending far to long in a LVT 2 yesterday and knowing this has been brought up like 400 times on here i think it needs to be atleast issued by the people in charge if we can atleast get DUCKS
they where used a ton in both pacific and Atlantic battles
they probably arn't much faster than lvt's in water but way the hell faster on land atleast

quick facts i found online
With a maximum speed of 20mph on Land (or 7.5 mph on water) and an operational range of miles on land (or 50 miles on water) the LVT-2 could carry a payload of 6,950-lb.

so its a bit slower in water being 7mph but atleast when it hits land your at 50mph

don't tell me someone hasn't had this idea on their desk at high tech for the last 10 years come

and a responce or idea of whats coming down the tube from the programs would be cool too like maybe a forum or post of what to exspect over the next 6 months or year in updates ??

nice part is its a one and done no one can ask for variants

Variants
2 1/2 Ton, 6x6, Amphibian Truck, DUKW:
Scorpion: Had 4.5" / 114.3 mm rockets mounted.2 Used in the Pacific theater of operations.2
BAV-485: Soviet Union's copy.2 Had a loading ramp at the rear of the cargo area.2

thats all there was
but they did have a 50 cal on about 1/4 of them for anti air fire that was from the factory would be nice to have that

Used to ride them every year in the Wisconsin Dells.  Then didn't for a number of years.  Took the kids a couple of years ago for the first time.

We rode Sherry...  Which has a super secret High School meaning for me, which I don't plan on telling my wife or kids about...  Let's just say it wasn't the first time that I "rode" Sherry!   :bolt:

the dells hell yeah going there myself in like 4 weeks
for those who don't know
someone had a genious idea of building the worlds largest water park in wisconsin
anyway to subject

this is why we should have them they are by far the most famous and where very very integral to all the beach operations done during the war

just google them and they are officially DUKW   not duck but still its a duck

and ignore the gun on them thats just a picture of them moving a gun which they did i just want them for carrying troops

shoot i might use them over the M3 that way when a base is near water you can go around in the water a little and not have to go the long way around

i challenge anyone to say this is a bad idea

and that it it shouldn't already be in the game

Tip your driver and buy the little souvenir book.  Most of them are college students paying for school.
