Unable to update Aces High

I'm trying to update my version so I can play online.

Currently on 2.27 Patch 4

When I click account admin (to presumable establish an account and pay), I get "Updater - Your current version is out of date and can no longer be used online. Do you wish to download the update?"
When I click Yes it goes through the update process.
When the bar reaches the end I get, "Microsoft Windows - aceshigh.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I must then click Close Program.

Guess what, Windows has never notified me of a solution. 

So, can anyone assist with helping me get online?

Sounds like something (like anti-xxx software) is interfering with the game.

Try grabbing the full version from our downloads page, install it over the top of your existing version and see if that corrects it.  It could be any number of issues causing this.

Okay, I will give that a try. Will that wipe out my config files (like keyboard and flight stick settings), or can I store them somehow if it does?

your settings files etc should be fine Time, best to make a copy anyway.

Now I just have to wait until after the 15th so the billing cycle is on my 2nd paycheck of the month.
