There is a criteria that must be followed before a skin can be added in game, even then it takes quite a long time for them to be added.

We will not accept skins containing the swastiska. NOTE: If you are making a skin that originally had a swastiska, just leave the spot blank where the swastiska would have been, or change the swatiska to the Iron Cross. Use your best judgement on this.
We will not accept skins that alter the overall shape of the object.
We will only accept skins that were historically used in World War II.
Only submit the files/skins you actually change from the original.
The text description file must be named by the object name, such as p51d.txt for a P51D skin, for example.

You can make your own skin and use it offline I think (not sure you'd have to ask a skinner)

It's just a basic natural metal Mustang.  They obviously haven't applied markings to it.  The closest to that plain look is the 479th FG skin for the AH 51D

i am in no way a nazi/skinhead/clansman or what ever you would like to call it but, why is the swastika not aloud? I mean i know its just a game, but its a game based on history, and history being history it should not be pushed aside and forgotten. I can see how it might be offensive to some people but its a WW2 game you kinda have to expect to see the symbol. Speaking off the symbol was also a source of inspiration and pride for the German people at least pre and early parts of the war

anyway thoughs are just my thoughts on the matter

Yes, pretty much legal issues with Germany and possibly other European nations. We have many subscribers flying in those countries and we couldn't if we broke the laws.


That "skin" is basically no markings at all, as Guppy pointed out. It's not all that good looking, either. We have better skins showing bare metal and all its nuances already in-game. Historically, they didn't fly into combat like that. I'd suggest you check out Guppy's suggested skin, and see if it floats your boat. At least it's already in-game.

Germany takes that stuff VERY seriously. I've heard its serious trouble for drawing a simple swastika

some of the planes or at least one do have the swastika but for a different reason.  but it's not allowed in the german planes, only the iron cross is allowed on the german planes, i believe.

I learned that many nations and religions actually used the swastika or some variations of it mostly as symbol of good luck or something like that.  it is actually still used today in many nations but the nazi's used it as a symbol of hate.  that's why you cant and shouldnt be allowed in the german planes.

The swastika as a symbol of nazi power is different from the swastika found on Finnish aircraft. One is often on a red banner and always at 45 degrees, the other is in a circle and "square" --- these are not to be confused with each other. The nazi symbol is not allowed.

While originating as a symbol of a political party, the swastika was a national marking too, since 1933.
