maybe what we dont get here is the fact that in WWII bombing was done with very large formations.
It seems to me like the people that want reforms are the ones that bomb by themselves or with 1 or 2 others. witch clearly isnt enough to have a big affect, and thus why they have all these great ideas.
really, i think in order to please these people we need a "strat" system that can be manipulated by 1 or 4 people.
If anyone was there on "Swoops" legendary High-Alt escorted B-29 missions, they would know that we accually made a difference.
However, I definantly think we need more strategic targets. IE bridges, small factories, trains, and supply convoys (that dont go 120 mph).
so maybe something along the lines of:
airfields only have supplies IE ord, fuel, and damage control.
1) every 15 minutes a base is resupplied. if a convoy is strafed and killed ,the base doesnt have ord til the next convoy resupplies the base.
2.a)trains resupply bases. B) trains resupply fuel at bases. if a train is strafed the fuel supply is cut down.
3) destroying bridges completley cuts off supply routes and must be repaired by either M3 or goon.
4) I think a "universal" system would be cool to. by that I mean each base can only have a certain amount of supplies on site. IE a small airfield 50,000 gallons of gas, 30 tons of ord. Med airfield 75,000 gallons of gas, 60 tons of ord. Large airfield 100,000 thousand gallons of gas 100 tons of ord. Everytime a plane takes off with ord, the base supply goes down and needs to be resupplied. therefore, if you use all your supplies, and cannot be resupplied, theoretically the base can be inoperable for days. BUT, thats only if the supply lines are cut
seems pretty close to how it works in real life. Also, the number of supplies on site could be "modeled" to how much airbases did in WWII. so researching how much ords, fuel most airfields had at them would help with this wish. So the amount of supplies airfields have on them should be historically ( or not exaggerated) to how it was in WWII
