It is November, 1944. The US 8th Air Force is exerting itself to its limits, sending enormous waves of escorted heavy bombers into Germany for wide-ranging strikes in an attempt to bring Germany
to its knees. However, General Galland has gathered Luftwaffe resources and is focusing its remaining might, which is substantial. His goal is to inflict horrific losses upon the 8th Air Force,
preferably enough to crack its resolve. His goal is to deliver “Der Grosse Schlag” -- The Great Blow.

This scenario will pit 8th Air Force P-51D’s, P-51B’s, P-47D-25’s, P-38J’s, B-24J’s, and B-17G’s against Luftwaffe Bf 109K-4’s, Bf 109G-14’s, FW 190D-9’s, and FW 190A-8’s. The US will have strategic
targets to destroy, and the Luftwaffe will do all it can to take down the enemy fighters and bombers. This is a battle for supremacy in the skies over Germany.
Fighter pilots get two lives each frame, bomber pilots get one life and formations each frame, and there will be six frames and no coordination frame.

This will be a Saturday Afternoon Event with wheels in the well at 3:00pm Eastern.

October 6, 2012: Frame 1
October 13, 2012: Frame 2
October 20, 2012: Frame 3
October 27, 2012: Frame 4
November 3, 2012: Frame 5
November 10, 2012: Frame 6

Luftwaffe Command Team is ROC as CO and Brooke as XO.
8th Air Force Command Team is Fencer as CO and Corkyjr as XO.
Soulyss will handle setup and running the event.

Oak, we learned a long time ago, we can't plan an event on what we don't have, nor what it "should" perform like.  We have to run the event as designed based on the reality of what we have today.  We will introduce the new planes as we get them, and they have been vetted for what they actually are capable of once we see a real hands on example of what they are.  Then, we introduce them into an event.

The first time this was run, for me, it became the litmus that all scenarios are tested against.


This one has wheels up already and looks like it has a good chance to surpass the original.

That, Slate, is my biggest concern.  I am deeply troubled by the potential loss of life as my guys die laughing at all the falling allied scrap metal.  Thank you for understanding our plight.

This is what I have been waiting for.  IMMERSION!

DGS was the best scenario ever bar none.  Some fine COS in this event and a great way to experience
what the LW and Allied Pilots had to endure.  I was actually soaked and shaking in the last DGS when
touching down at the home Field.

Scenarios are what WE make them.  Here is the opportunity to make it as close to real as one can get.

It's up to the Community, not the gents who spend hours putting the Maps, Skins, and Plans of Battle to make it a great Scenario.

Just DO IT!
