To be entirely accurate, the way that BBS's are set up it doesn't save the entire post that you see. It essentially only saves the message content and a few other linking numbers. I doesn't save the avatar each time a post is made. It's complicated to explain but the CMS, but even if this thread reaches 50,000 posts it won't be that big.
Yeah, the avatar is just a pointer.. no biggie. My initial post was to ridicule the concept of simply starting a thread for the purpose of people adding 1 to a number until it reaches a million. 'pushing up' a post count. That, to me, sounds insanely silly and a waste of resources.. hence my response.
Now that I understand you're referring to people actually doing push-ups and then adding their tally to a running total, I must formally apologize for my initial misunderstanding. This does sound like fun, and, like I said, as I regain feelings in my arms, I'll add more.
