Iron Front: Liberation 1944

When they hit the Pz IV and it flips over is when I finally got interested.
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

They have a stuka....seems like Battlefield 1942 + World of Tanks combined.

  the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

No actually this is from the makers of ArmA 2, it's Bohemia Interactive for sure.

Go look at Take on Helicopters, ArmA 2, ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, and ArmA 3.

I also know because it has the command bar. Did I mention it will have Run Neintys?

It's not from the makers of ArmA/ArmA2 (Bohemia Interactive), it's being published and developed by Deep Silver (Dead Island, Risen series) and using the engine from Arma2.  Bohemia Interactive are the distributors.

It looks like an interesting game, comes out next week and features 2 single player campaigns that can also be played co-op and has multiplayer modes like capture the flag.  Going to keep an eye on it and will probably check it out when it's released.

     It does look interesting.  I have to wonder about the Tiger tactics though....'Let's drive over the crest of the hill, then turn our flanks

It uses the ArmA II Operation Arrowhead engine and plays almost the same as ArmA (with improvements here and there). It's an all round military simulator - land, sea and air. It looks to be pretty similar to the Invasion 1944 mod for ArmA II but on the Eastern front and made into its own standalone game.

The AI can be a little strange at times, especially tank crews. They don't seem to have any sense of armoured warfare but luckily it has a full in game editor so you can tell them what to do.

Here's a couple videos of tank warfare in the Invasion 1944 mod, Iron Front should be very similar to this (using the same engine) but will have major improvements, like taking into account the armour thickness, sloping and shell velocity which ArmA II tries to do but fails in the end.

I bought this game yesterday and it does not disappoint! It has some bugs and can seem amateurish (some English translations are exceptionally poor) but the gameplay is brilliant. Tank warfare is great, everything is taken into account. Where you hit the tank, armour thickness, shell velocity, armour sloping, everything. Infantry combat is also great, good bullet physics and realistic damage with squad based tactics. Air combat can be difficult at times but works out well and you can really feel a kick from the cannons. My biggest criticism would be the gun sounds, they just sound too weak.

For anyone who is in it for tanks/aircraft, here's what you get (can't remember full names/models without checking the game);

Germany:

Panzer IV
Panther
StuG III
King Tiger

Surprisingly no Tiger tank.

Soviet Union:

T-34/76
T-34/85
SU-85
IS-2

Aircraft;

Germany:

FW-190
Stuka

Soviet Union:

P-39
PE-2
