« on: May 24, 2012, 09:15:59 AM »
Some of you may already know but word is the Race is on. With all applicable permits and insurance secured, looks to be an awesome show. After last years incident I know a lot of people thought it would never take place again. Im glad cooler heads prevailed.(thank god their not in Cali.)

Man.

It is the best sport there is.
Aint no high school game with overpaid jocks actin out.

Somethin about 50 thousand horsepower diving into the course over the grand stands at the race start..
..just an amazing experience.. you feel it, hear it, smell it ..yaa baby.

Worth every moment of going to see it.

I gotta get back.

Standard routine is book a room at Bally's or some such a year in advance,
take their shuttle out (if you drive yer gonna be way stuck in traffic comin an goin)
..or ride a motorcycle (can pull right up to Pit entry gate and swing the kickstand down :)

..and enjoy the weekend.
It *ROCKS*
. . especially if yer there early when they have some of the planes on display in Bally's parkin lot or some such :)

I'll have to scan an post some of my pix from years ago.

I really can not believe i they are going to do it.  I'm glad they are, but in the day and age we live in, I am absolutely in awe that they were able to pull it off.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Apparently they secured a $100M insurance policy for this year's races. Will be interesting to see what changes (if any) they decide to implement.

I was there last year when the crash happened, but I'm not quite sure yet about how I feel going back. Regardless it's on my calendar again for this year. Just cant resist fast :airplane:-s i guess. :)
