The 47 Ronin Committing To Axis vs Allies Arena Each Tues Night

Gents,
  Effective this coming Tuesday evening, The 47 Ronin squadron will
be committing itself to operations in the Axis vs Allied Arena.
Start time for us will be 9PM Eastern U.S. time.
  This week's setup in there is basically G4M1s and Zekes,
against F4Us and P38s.
  My intention is to have The 47 Ronin fly as Japanese and we will
be escorting Admiral Yamamoto (myself in a G4M) from Rabaul
to Bouganville so that he can coordinate plans for the destruction
of Guadalcanal with his minions.
  The guys runnin' the Axis vs Allies arena are a dedicated bunch
and the intention here is to both have fun and assist them in
their endeavors in working up some action in that arena on
a regular basis.
  The setup for Tuesday night will be NME icons OFF.

  I'm figuring if we commit as a squadron, that perhaps other squads / C.O.s will
find their way in there.
  I introduced a "poll" in our squad forum and was quite pleased with the
number of respondents.
  Here's the results:


Based on that, my guess is that between The 47 Ronin and The Shillelaghs
we can bring perhaps 10-12 guys in there each Tuesday night.
  The thing to bear in mind is that from what I've seen over the years
with functional squads, attendance drops a bit as there's lots more
good weather and outdoor activities goin' on.
  So, if it's slow in there for the next couple of months, that's to
be expected. If however, once it starts gettin' cold out, and attendance
doesn't pick up (on Tues. nights), then it's "Houston, we have a problem."
  What would be really cool to engender some interest in the AvA would
be for HTC to introduce the new 410 or Stuka in there first; an "exclusive"
if you will. Maybe just give 'em to the AvA for two weeks prior to
release to the general population. That'd be sure to draw a crowd
in there so the guys who've not flown in there can give it a whirl and
see what it's about.

  I'm sure there'd be some whining if it were done. But, with
all the work and efforts of the guys who run the AvA, I would
think a little bit of thanks in the way of an "exclusive" plane(s)
for two weeks might be in order. 
  And it's not like everyone else would be disallowed from flying
it/them; they'd just have to do it in the AvA during that
short period of time.

As an arena that services a smaller market within AH, I'm not sure it makes sense for them to give us a "first crack" exclusive on anything that would be applicable to the more populated arena.

However, something like the AI mission system that they are developing for custom arenas would be perfect to first enable in the AvA and also possibly the SEA if they want it, as I am not certain it would have a useful purpose in the main arena where we could possibly use it to great effect in AvA.

We also already have some staff members experienced in creating offline missions.

Yessir, just come on in and pick a side to fly on. Right now Tuesdays are a night you can usually find action starting around 9pm est.

Other nights when players see a few in there, more of them will follow.
