If anyone can please just stop by any memorial it doesnt need to be a big one but just the thought of doing it is enough.
I am occasionally troubled by "Survivors Guilt" because of those who were wounded, died, or suffer emotional trauma. Every time I hear of a group of young G.I.s dying in combat, it chokes me up, and I get a longing feeling of regret, because I wasn't there to help. This used to really bother me, then the other day at the VA hospital, I had a nice talk with an older war vet & he said, "It never goes away! It still gets me today...It's because you were brothers in arms and would have died along side them, if necessary....You get to enjoy your wife & children & they don't....it's a feeling of loyalty, find a good place to keep that where it wont bother you." to the wisdom which comes with age.
