One last question right now. All the jeeps were used for plowing snow. the 48 has the holes for the pump drilled right through the plate with the VIN, the '47 doesn't have a plate, and neither does the '46. You know of any places that may be able to do a plate with an existing vin?
Ah yes.. everyone's favorite PITA... the VIN!
When I bought mine it had a title thank god. Now of course all the actual numbers (frame/body/engine) were under paint/grease/painted grease.
I finally was able to clean those up and not a single one comes even close to the VIN on the title. You can contact a few different places to try and get them titled. Since you should have at least a bill of sale I think it just entails going back and forth to the DMV. I do understand that there are titling companies out and about too.
In my case I'm just going to get another frame tag, have it engraved with the # on the title and rivet that bad boy to the gusset on the passenger side. Everything seems legit in my case. The insurance company, DMV and state didn't give me a single problem.
Willys actually made a plow for the CJ2A's, if you can find one with the dataplates still on it they can be worth a bit of money.
These guys here can satisfy all your dataplate needs

Get them pictures up buddy!
(oh yeah.. I'm down to e-brake, wiring, starter then turn the key and pray!)
