GV Range Arena
« on: May 29, 2012, 04:00:47 PM »
Hi All,

After playing golf on the driving range, i thought about the same sort of thing for GVers.  Would it be prudent to have a 20 maximum player arena in a golf driving range setting to practice shots?

Stationary signs of 1k, 1.5k, 2k ..... 5k or even 7k?

Then have moving targets simulating max speed gv's at those targeted range. M3's M4's Tigers, you get the point.....

The players would be in a slightly concave area from station 1 - 20 (like a driving range).

Any thoughts?

You could also load up Rangers new tank practice and dive bombing practice map and do you practice with that.

Where could I get that?  Seems interesting.

I was about to suggest a "table VIII" range for GV'ers until I saw this post. Still on a smaller scale (About 3000m to about 2.0k) in length than a mapped arena, the "table VIII" gunnery range sports Hide positions, and roads to practice moving engagements, with a good mix of Small arms (aka troops- In Real Life they simulate R.P.G teams), Soft Skin, and Armored engagement silhouettes. Both Stationary and moving (or mixed) You can even run team moves for Squad based training scenarios. Generally there are two to three "lanes" on a Table VIII, but designing  Range similar to USRanger (who has in my opinion done an outstanding job)  would be a simple matter of placing  mirror imaged "ranges" side by side so that multiple "teams" could get use at the same time.
Yes there is a Huge learning curve in flying. It starts on Take off and ends on the glide slope for landing. In short The grade arc is the difference you take between being in the sky or in a mountainside.
