Aces High on a game console?
« on: May 31, 2012, 08:26:19 PM »
After watching a game console commercial, I was wondering if Aces High could be played from a said game console instead of a PC?  Just a thought  :joystick:

i seriously doubt hitech would agree to pay fees to microsoft or sony just so his game will play on their consoles or spend the time needed to rewrite the program for the proprietary operating systems.

Possible yes, plausible no.

I don't even think it's POSSIBLE... Not with console inputs and limitations. It would have to be horribly dumbed down to an arcade game in every way possible. I'm sure the graphics card could run it on reduced eye candy, but as far as the fundamentals of how the game works?

I really don't think it's even possible. It would be a totally different game. Not one I'd wish to play, either.

Really the graphics ? I don't know crap but consoles seem to have way better eye candy . The price is a fraction of a PC . I played a demo of a WW2 game on PS3 the other day . The only thing I liked about it was the fact I could finally show the difference between a game and a sim .

Don't be fooled. Compared to the average PC setup consoles run smaller resolutions, smaller textures, can process less polygons and details/lighting/eyecandy.

It's a fact that game companies which port to consoles have to reduce graphics and often even redesign maps/levels to reduce visible structures/geometry to achieve something similar to what you would find when playing the game on a PC. The texture memory is also much smaller so textures are lower, blockier. They do a good job of hiding it, but it takes a lot of work. They also have limits with what they can store in memory at any given moment.

+1, current consoles are 5 years+ old hardware and get owned by any decent gaming PC setup

Im not saying it wouldnt require some major changes, but I think it could be done given a few years and a sizeable check.  ;)
