Tour Stat Report for Countries
« on: June 07, 2012, 10:06:47 AM »
I sure someone has already suggested this, but I'll do it again. I would like to know on the "Monthly Tour Stat Report" what country won the maps the most for that month, Bishop, Knights, or Rooks. While this may be more of an individuals game (maybe) it certainly has teamwork attributes. Many people work on their "Kill" stats, and I have no problem with that, I focus more on the Country winning the map. Now with my lackluster Fighter skills that is understandable. I just think announcing the "Country" that won the most maps during a tour might enhance the "team" aspect of the game. Just a rambling..... :D

I doubt that we will see that, as even the country kill stats we once had were removed to make the game less country centric.

As for myself, there can never be enough statistics  ;)

I really wish the country killstats were still here as they used to be.  I could quickly find out, how much sideswitching there really is.
In my experience, it's actually as many players that are actually switching as it commonly seems to be believed. But without numbers, I can't prove anything. :(

Sorry didnt quite get that.

I always tend to swap over to the side with the lowest numbers (not that I can do much once there! :o)

Personally I think anything that makes people wanna stick to one particular country should be discouraged. Id even be so bold as to force squads to switch countries each tour. I believe people will wanna stick to whichever side has their squads and can be an indirect means to ensure some balance in numbers.

At the moment, people sticking to one country or another seem to have caused the development of various country specific mindsets. Heres what Ive seen as of my limited expeirence so far:

Bishes: A horde for everything, and eveything with a horde.

Knights: There is no team in 'I'. If u cant do it alone, dont do it at all.

Rooks: Closest Ive seen to some sort of occasional organised team play.

what is the problem with not changing countries?  I have friends that I have never flown with but fought against and we still good friends?  some people like to change at will some others dont.

having the option to change is good.  forcing people to switch not so good.

Back when they had the kill stats for each country the Rooks always had the highest K/D ratio, followed by the Knights and the Bishops always had the lowest K/D ratio.  Rooks had their best K/D ratio against the Bishops, Knights had their best against the Bishops and the Bishops had their best against the Knights. The exact ratios changed, but the order never changed.

I believe what Luche means is that it is commonly assumed that people often switch, and he believes that that is infact the case.

As for the part highlighted in red, that's just silly.  I switch alot and there is not one discernible difference from one country to another.  Everyone complains that country X hordes, or ignores counrty Y.  Whatever country I am flying for is ALWAYS at the disadvantage because they are the ones being bomtarded, horded, vulched or HO'd.  They never do this however, except occasionally when it is considered "ok"

I believe players do not switch as much as commonly is believed. The majority are quite country loyal.

A number of squads switch every tour, at least two, and probably more like 5.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I would like two stats every tour  an overall kills / deaths  and  who won the war,

I think people will be surprised as to how similar the stats will end up.

I'd like it too, but I think it would show how different the teams are. I remember it more like Karnak said.

Bish would have the most war wins, and Rooks would have the better K/D, Knights would be in the middle.

I admit that I find what I consider to be an over zealous attachment to one particular side somewhat fascinating. I like switching around and flying with different folks (although not as much these days due to the 12 hour limitation).  I think it would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if the roster cycled countries whenever a new map was loaded.

What I mean is the actual team rosters wouldn't change, but country affiliation would cycle.  New map and you were on knights, you look in for the first time and now you're rook along with all the other folks who were knights.  Actual teammates the same but the little icon over you're name is different.  In my mind it should have no impact whatsoever but I'd be really curious to see how the community at large would react.

what I find fascinating is some people's wanting to force everybody to switch.  guess what, some dont really care to switch.  I for one like the faces I see in my own country.  been playing with this guys for so long I know more or less who to expect to come to my help if needed regardless.  there's some guys that have turned around and come to my aid when they had no ammo or were damaged and I have done the same.  this creates a better playing environment than if you were forced to switch and play with different guys everyday.

most of us are not as well known as soulyss or tb or a few others and are basically strangers to each other.  and if we are switching every day it would take a lot longer to find friends you fly with.  it's not the game that brings me back and I am not putting it down by any means, but it's the interaction with the players that makes me want to spend 3k on a system just to bs and have a couple of beers.  take that away and it will be like wot and wop where you switch sides after every single game.  I dont know anybody in that game except for a few in my squad plus a couple others that I play company wars with.  that is what ah would be for the new people.
