Imported by Century Arms International.   :D

Nice military sidearm, I'm sure it will serve you well just like it did the former owners.   :aok

Are they pricey?

From J&G sales $300 not including shipping and FFL dealer transfer fees. Good to very good condition. Comes with the gun(of course), a holster, an extra mag, a cleaning rod, and a mag loader. For an extra $20 you have the option of them hand selecting a very good condition mag98.

And now for a short history lesson on the gun(at least what I could find). In 1993, the Łucznik Arms Factory designed the Mag 95. It got rid of the old 9x18mm Makarov round and replace it with the standard 9mm NATO round. It was designed for the Polish Army, but it wasn't accepted because it wasn't the right weight or dimensions they were looking for. Then, in 1996, the Mag 98 was created. The Mag 98 is exactly the same as a Mag 95 except it has an aluminum frame instead of an all steel one. It was evaluated by the Army again, but still wasn't accepted. Even though the aluminum frame made it lighter, it was still too heavy and the dimensions stayed the same.
The Mag 98 was instead issued to Poland's boarder patrol and high level security prison guards. A small amount was also sold to Poland's population, but not many because of the super strict gun laws they have over there. Also, some military personnel prefer the Mag as their own side arm.

I find it neat that this weapon is based on the designs of other familiar handguns. In other words, it's a bunch of different handguns built into one.

I always have enjoyed the way any glock fits into your hand. Its a good solid design and a blast to shoot! literally...

Admittedly, I didn't like the look of the Springfield.  I've grown to tolerate, hell, even like the look.  :D  I can't blame anyone for choosing the Springfield, but it would be hard to ever convince me to give up my Glock.  I almost bought a PPS when looking for a CC gun, ended up choosing a Kahr (wish I had gone with the Walther or a Glock 26).

i think the XDMs look nice, this guy did a great review on them.

he gives it a good review, but i keep hearing people complaining that the grip safety is prone to failing.

You need to try the XDm.

I have never had an issue with the grip safety.

I'm not a big fan of the grip safety.  It's not a deal breaker for me, but given a choice of two guns of equal quality, I'd probably choose the one without the grip safety.

I'm probably in the minority these days, but I like the thumb safety of my S&W 5906 and 1006.  If I need it on, I flip it on, and I like the DA pull for the first shot.

The original is a neat pistol though. :)

Absolutely love my XDm in .40 bitone (4 1/2").  I initially bought it as a carry gun, but also wanted to get into comp shooting.  Now I carry my P220 as an every day carry, and use the XDm solely for comp.  Never had any issue with the grip safety (no malfunctions as of yet, other than a out of round bullet mold, causing some leading),  seems to me, the only reason you would let a grip safety be an issue is if you plan on limp wristing the gun (not a good idea with a glock especially, I've heard).

As a carry gun, the thing I did not like about the XDm (other than the width) was the rear sights being so sharp on the corners.  Made it obvious that "something" was there.  Even though I may have been the only one to notice.
Amazing you could actually recruit that much suck into one squad.
