Fiat 500
« on: June 26, 2012, 05:12:45 PM »
I rent cars pretty regularly, normally for my business trips.  It's a great way to check out a car you might be considering in the future.

I just turned in a Fiat 500.  Rented while my own vehicle was down for maintenance.

All I can say about that car, for me anyway, is I hope I never have to drive one, or ride in one again.

I did not like it.

Only other vehicle I can remember disliking that much was a Dodge Nitro.

To each his own, but now I have two vehicles to avoid.

I'm wondering why the local radio stations (like half of them) have been giving one Fiat away per day/week this entire month....

One of the first year models of the Focus, I really hated driving it.  A car the size of a civic that handled and felt like a blimp/bubble on the road.

Well duh the Cinquezento is a grocery bag for urban women, it's not even meant for longer trips :)

Its really not a bad car, but the rental is a 100HP version with an automatic gear box. Try an Abarth from your local dealer, the extra 70HP and the manual box change the car. :x

Standard Abarth is only 135hp, Abarth SS is 160hp.

It seems they cheat with this new version, the engine is no longer 500cc :)

You must be in Europe, here in the US we have only one Abarth @ 160HP, and they don't say 'SS'.
