Can this service be disabled once all my devices are setup?

  checkout Blackviper's site,just google blackviper,his site will tell you what is safe to disable and what you should leave running.

  Not sure what you mean by dodgy but it's been the goto site for streamlining windows OS's for years. Everything he suggest comes with a warning and is set to different catagories based on user knowledge and comfortablity.

   I've been using his advice for about 10 years without problems,if you want an easier route to much the same thing,try googling Ken Salter,his program to shut down processes is fairly easy to use,heck even I can figure it out!
