Battlefield Evolution Mk.IV
« on: June 30, 2012, 02:33:33 PM »
How it works:
*Each Country will be assigned certain countrys' aircraft and vehicals (i.e. American vs. British/Russian vs. Japan/Germany/Italy)

*The Maps will rotate every 6 weeks or after one nation is completly defeated (i.e. no bases left) and one week coinsides with one year of the war (i.e. an aircraft not avalable till 1941 wouldn't be avalable till week 3)

*People will get higher rewards for capturing towns and bases to make it more appealing to try and win the war

*People will not be allowed to respawn right after they have been killed at the same base

Pros:
*It allows for experimental and postwar aircraft to see action but for a short period of time

*It allows for early and mid war aircraft to see more use that don't in the current setup

*Give long range vehical mission a greater chance for success

*It make the wars are more historicaly correct

*Replaces the Early, Mid, and Axis and Allies arenas, which are hardly ever used

Cons (and remedies):
*People will not like that they are told what aircraft they can and cannot use
The Dueling arena will still have the "anything goes" style of play

*The nations will be unbalanced
some planes will need to be added but just a change in personal tactics should be enough to balance things out

Prepare the Holy Suit of Nomex Underwear!  :D

Please understand that not everyone is a "win the war" basegrabber.  Also people would have even less incentive to defend against
the horde if they get ganged once and have to replane from another field.   I fail to see how limiting people's choices in aircraft will
improve gameplay.

It has been stated several times that rolling plane sets will not be considered...guess there is always room for one more time.
As far as long range vehicle missions go, I have only ever heard GVers ask for less travel time between fights, not more.

Tuton,

Do you realy beleive this will keep Hitech Creations in business and expand it's customer base?

If so, show us a detailed business plan for HTC that this is a superior revenue generation strategy versus 13 years of current HTC experience and future forcasting trends HTC has access to by virtue of being a member of the gaming industry.

Or are you doing this for your personal edification? If such, just run your own custom arena everytime you are logged in and invite players to sample it. I suspect that would take much more effort than posting in here. And I suspect your ego wants your creation forced upon the scale of the MA and it's population to satisfy your fantasy regardless of any consiquences. Usualy that means Hitech and Pyro are supposed to work out all the bugs in your fantasy while you sit back and experience the "Rapture" in sterio pixilised ecstasy.

Reminds me of Science Fiction conventions where the fans during the live question and answer sessions knew better than the authors what they were thinking while writing the fans favorite parts of the stories. Some of the fans were ready to mount the stage and attack the authors when they disagreed with them. Then there were the ones who always had an idea that would make some Sifi\Fantasy story series better and stalked the author of it around the convention for the whole weekend harrasing them.

Working con security and bodygaurd for authors was being payed to have fun in a nuthouse. Some nut always tried to spike something with LSD. But, then alot of the fans didn't need any help being nutz.

This is even dumber than Mks I-III.

USA vs England/Russia? Thats just stupid, and really kind of negates the entire point of a rotating plane set (ie, realism).

And beyond that, the USA would still dominate in terms of bombers, would hold her own in fighters, and be dead last in vehicles. She would also wail the crap out of everyone else in naval power.

UK/Russia would be essentially ****ed for the first 3 weeks, would be ahead in bombers initially, and onpar with everyone else for fighters. Later fall behind in bombers, have 1 vehicle for the first 5 weeks, and would still get face-raped in vehicles in week 5 and 6, even with the Firefly.

Axis would be behind in bombers between weeks 2 and 5, would be on-par for fighters between weeks 1 and 5, and then dominate the fighter area for weeks 5 and 6 with the 262. For vehicles, they would be essentially unopposed after week 3, and unless enemy airpower intervenes, could litterally just waltz right on to the enemy bases.

Again, you want history, go fly special events.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

The reason being, is that the other flight games that have tried it no longer have the subscribers.

I would if I knew how to make an arena
If someone could post a link on how to do so then I could try to make it happen

i think the biggest surprise of this whole thread is how quick people are to post fire resistant suits  :huh

I wish people would use the wish list forum to post their brilliant ideas, and be smart enough to not post all their stupid ones.

But I am under no disillusions of my wish ever being fulfilled.
