Welcome to the game Deadstick  :aok
Mbailey
80th FS "Headhunters"

Ichi Go Ichi E
Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

When the game is over, the Kings and Pawns all go into the same box.

Deadstik here's a pic of my setup. Next project will be to change the shelf the monitor stand is on into a box that holds the backlit MFDs. The stick is on an extension which allowed me to set the correct offset angle for the center mount as well as give me more travel. It's hard to see in the pic with the leather dust cover on the stick shaft, leftover leather is trim on the throttle, stick handle, and keyboard. The buttons etc are excessive for Aces High but it's nice for DCS A-10C. The analog trim levers have scales to match the AH trim indicators. I've taken a lot of time and small changes to get the ergonomics correct for me. I recommend you do the same before you have to adjust to a setup instead of adjusting the setup to yourself. Also note that you can sit on the floor in front of a notebook with a cheap stick in your lap and fly just as well as I do.  :lol

If I was to make a "So you want to build a SimPit" post, which forum would it belong in?

Any keyboard command can be made into control on a sim dashboard.
Here's a work in progress for my F4u-1a. Working on the layout I want.
You can control your Gear, Weapon Select, or most anything else that doesn't require a double key such as Alt+X.

It's faster to use your rear view instead of looking at a top mounted monitor.  Also AH doesn't allow 2 different views at the same time.

Question about tearing down a keyboard.

If I pull one apart and want to "rewire" a key too a switch how does that work?

I've never done it myself, but I know it can be done. I'd google "simpit" and look for message boards that are doing them. I know there are a bunch.

Instead of modifying a keyboard you might consider getting a USB board that allows you to make your own analog and button controls.

Ok guys, jog my memory.
Where did I see this little gem and what is it called.
I think it is made by Saitek but I could be wrong.
Might be just what deadstikmac is looking for.
