Thanks to the 109 and 190 drivers who kept at it.  Funny to hear the radio come alive when the first 109 high is seen :)

I gave it a shot but got waxed 3 times with only 1 fighter kill.  :(

But it was a blast zooming through the bomber formation.  :airplane: Only smoked some B-17 engines though until had to bail as Butcher flamed my 190.
Learned a few things though.  :noid and I don't think the Luftwaffe was very organized not hitting the formation in force allowing escorts to shed attackers one by one.

That was a lot of fun.  With all the whining in the other threads about how some people play the game, this was a good example of how it should be done.   :salute

I only regret I won't be able to join any other such missions.  I was on vacation this week, otherwise I would not be home in time to join.

In any case, keep up the good work.   :aok

Now you've gone and done it!
I guess I'll have to dust off the map boards,
come out of retirement and get the rooks rolling
with our own MoM's again!

You guys sound like you're due for a spanking anyway.   :D

As long as the Luft pilots come in by ones and twos, its hard to do serious damage to the bombers. One pass and you will have 2 or 3 escorts on ya. Its best to get grouped up and come in together with part of your group to engage fighters while the others hit the bombers.

I flew against that mission in a 110g2.   8 bomber formations with 30 + fighter escorts all at 30k is nada to brag about. Your fighter escort so outnumbered the bombers that I for one will not be participating again. With that said though the one pass I got to do was a lot of fun and I  :salute you for what you are trying to do.

Understand that your plan didn't work out that well.  The reason was you most likely flew solo.  Just try again next week but with 4 other players and work together as a team.  You will have better success and more fun.   :salute

I'm still looking for a player to organize and lead a Luftwaffe armada each week.  40 -50 Axis aircraft working together will make things happen.

Tango is right. Even more fun if there is an organized counter-mission: some fine many vs many instead of ganging the single defenders. Its only possible when the bomber mission's target is preset - otherwise no chance to catch up. Maybe the strat city can be a good target.

I hope the next one will be even better  :salute

If we took off as a group with a organized resistance, I and any Squaddies that are on would be happy to fly against you guys. As far as a leader goes might I suggest Molesman. He upped at the same time I did with 4 other ac and made a impact, we all hit ya at the same time but still the fighter cap was not realistic. Is there any way you could maximise the number of escorts? Honestly with that set up you had even if 20 ac would have attacked at the same time they all would have had to make one pass and dive for the deck to survive.
I'm asking you this because I adhered to the spirit of the mission and upped a 110g2 instead of a 262 like you asked for. Again I love the concept, nothing more fun than attacking a bomber formation with fighter escort.  :salute sir and good luck with future missions I for one think its a big improvement to MA game play.

Actually for late 44-45 it was not bad for realism.  Imagine what it was like for a young German pilot going up those odds for real.  You just happened to get a cartoon taste of it.

Can you be more specific?

The Mission takes off from a certain country - you either switch to that country to join the mission - or you can find its location on 200 and attack it, preferably in german aircraft.
