being mister nice guy

the huge gangs that show no respect or honor in a game....have pushed me....I am done

so I hereby rescind my policy of no vulching......... no ganging........ no Hoing........ not flying the uberist rides...

so when you see me in the 16...LA7...K4...262.....51D.. .....look around you at the huge hoard of green guys that will do ANYTHING to "win" GANG a guy 10-15 on 1...60 plus on 1 field......you will know why.

if you want a "fair" fight from me ask me to the DA  :aok

It will be a bad day for the people to whom you speak when about 12 really tired-of-it guys decide to hit a horde.  I would like to see:

Corky, Grizz, INK, Bone, Dodger, Cactus, TC, Bruv, LilMak, JUGgler, Kappa, Fester, Ardy, Krup, and Redbull (actually put whatever list together you want of guys like these and there are a number of them I left out Bighorn, Batfink, Hlbly et al)....just one time in 51D's, Spixteens and LA7's against the horde....any freakin horde, pickers, and lame noobs alike.....the carnage would be ridiculous and the whining...oh lord the whining.

14 vs 40....I will wager a 3 month subscription to AH that 4 make it back alive and land um....lol.  (because they would simply stay in it for the fight, lol)

That's the great thing about the free for all style of the main arenas.  There is no way to make one single type of game play that will appease everyone, however there are solutions for every complaint  :aok

I agreed that everyone should be able to try and play the game the way they want. Obviously everyone is NOT going to have a "card blanch" either. If a guy wants to milk run the strats all day in B29s odds are pretty good eventually someone is going to be around to try and shoot him down. However, I don't think there is a "solution to every complaint".

What is a "realistic" solution for the horde missions? I don't think it's realistic to expect a few guys to spend the few hours they have to play to do nothing but pork troops/ords along front line bases. Nor is it realistic to expect to have 10-12 guys to sit in the tower all night ready to scramble to defend an in coming attack. WHat is the "solution" to the horde missions?

um....shoot them down.

Are they even a problem unless one values gaming real estate?
Big missions provide targets.
Targets improve gameplay for me.

I don't expect people to sit around and wait for a horde mission to launch before they do something about it.  The hordie guys have to sit around planning the missions, forming the mission, gather the players, do all the dirty work, then when they launch there is a pretty large dar bar that shows up announcing that there is trouble coming.

Example.  Last month.  Minding my own business, most of the rooks were doing the same, just going about their day.  I saw 2 dar bars launch way deep in the bad guys territory.  So, since I was getting in some air time on the D9 I'll be flying in the scenario, I filled up the tank, grabbed a drop, and headed out there.  I found a massive formation of bombers and escorts.  This took about 40 minutes for me to get there.  They were still 5 sectors out from our closest base.  I announced heading and alt.  No worries yet, just letting you all know type of thing.  I paced them, kept updating the alt, heading, and now it was becoming clear what their target was.  When it got close enough, the call went out to get ready and the rooks launched and intercepted the group.   Slaughtered the attack, negligible damage to the targets, few bad guys made it home.  Raid over, back to what everyone was doing.
Minimal interruption, got in some great furballs.  It doesn't take much effort, but no effort will solve nothing.  If someone simply doesn't want to do something about the horde, then the horde will simply continue on.  Bloody their nose often enough, and the groupies will grow tired of it.

Again, I'm talking realistic here, for an average player. Ink, Batty your both top notch cartoon pilots and would have no trouble downing half a dozen each with out breaking a sweat, but for most players that are average, and not so average they isn't much you can do. Given an hour to fly each night I could take one trip and shadow a horde.... not a lot of action, or fun. Milkrunners have a "solution", up a K4, or a jet...heck they even added "special" jets to counter them at the starts, but not hordes. If people want to horde, that's fine, but there should be a way to counter them, like everything else.
