assorted Hunting photos
« on: July 06, 2012, 11:10:34 PM »
I looked for the guy that made this rub for 5 years. He probably died or was killed by another hunter by now. I am 6 feet tall and am touching the highest spot he marked with his antler tip while tearing up this tree.

please post your hunting related photos!

Looks like a Bear rub, claw, and maybe chew. I assume your in Grizz country with the Large caliber handgun at your side. A Moose scrape would have more antler mark grooves. It also kinda low on the tree for a moose scrape.

its an elk rub. no grizzly in the part of oregon I hunt, but lots of mountain lion.I was scouting with a friend 2 weeks prior to the elk season when I found this rub. I've found hundreds of rubs, but this is the only one ive ever took a picture of just because of the damage to a tree this size and the height of it. the rifle was my partners who snapped the photo and i was just packing the .357 revolver.

here is a photo from the same area, taken the day before the season started. I always carry a pack of fish hooks and leader. I saw these little brook trout swimming near the shore, so I tied it on to a stick and dug a beetle out of a log and managed to catch one:

LOL, I forgot about Elk :lol. Its been a long time since I saw an Elk rub/scrape. Thanks for correcting me. I was thinking moose, to low, for some odd reason or a Bear rub.
