In Flight Fuel Dump Valve

What about an inflight fuel dump valve?  Could be "shift D" for on & off.

Would come in useful to go lighter in fighters or for bombers looking to lighten up the load.

Almost none, perhaps even none, of the aircraft in AH had that capability.  Further, as you note the use you want it for, it would be used for gamey stuff instead.

that reminds me of a fight that i got into with one of the v guys.  he was in a p47 I was in a pony chasing him.   he dropped ords, rockets, pulled the trigger to waste 1/2 the ammo to lighten his load as he tried to make it over a mountain with me on his six.   I bet he wished he had used the fuel dump too if he had it.  he didnt make it, but the wasting 1/2 the ammo made me smile.

i don't see that i'm not sure when it started but all aircraft have this that ive ever worked on or seen in real life

you figure this had to be thought of back then when the pitch of the aircraft and balancing was much more important than it is these days

Generally speaking WW2 era craft did not have this feature. You can read all sorts of cases where planes with damaged landing gear or other emergency situations circled the field for hours to burn off fuel before attempting a wheels up landing.

A little bit of research goes a LONG way.  I vote a HUGE no.  AH is already gamey enough (%50 fuel and DT anyone?).  Trust those of us who have any inclination of reality in WWII, either implied, learned, or via common sense: pilots didnt dump fuel so they could turn tighter, etc.  In fact they went easy on the throttle to conserve fuel as much as possible.  Also, in terms of the AH experience if you actually think that dumping fuel is going to save your bum from getting shot down then you should not have been in that situation to begin with.      Learn to use your throttle and rudder.

Can we have fuel transfers? In planes that had them?

Ie, a fuel tank gets shot and starts leaking but you can pump that fuel to another tank manually. Maybe simulated the manual transfer by having to tap a key repeatedly?

you are sorely mistaken if you think being able to dump fuel from internal tanks is a typical feature on any aircraft created, since airplanes have been made.

all modern day fighters and bombers do have this option like i siad i dont know when it was added but i know everything since the 50's has had it on it

reminds me of a 47 I met up with....I watch him dump all his bombs rockets...he didn't realize I had come down from like 5 k above him and was coming in from his lo 6 with massive E...he goes up after he dumps everything...I follow him up and catch him fast...he tries a split S right into my guns and into tower....I was laughing friggin hard...I don't know why but it was funny as chit....

yeah see, alot of heavies.

and on it goes..

If you can't learn to fight with 50% fuel, what difference does it make if you fly with 100% and fuel dump? nothing - learn to fly with 100% and you won't need to worry about dumping.

i dont think this is about fighting entirely i would like to see it on the bombers
some times you take off with alot of fuel you don't need and i wouldn't mind be able to dump some to increase my speed when a emergency call comes out and your trying to get there quickly and no longer need the fuel
