Use the "mode" options in the joystick configuration and assign a button to switch modes.

Example, setup "Mode 3" for your bomber and then assign a button in "Mode 1" to switch to "Mode 2" and in "Mode 2" assign the same button the command to switch to "Mode 3" and in "Mode 3" assign the same button to switch to "Mode 1".

Each "Mode" can have a completely unique configuration for the input devices.

I have a Logitech Extreme Pro joystick. I have mapped all the buttons and have checked it several times to make sure the mapping is still there (showing in AH). Despite this, the buttons still function under the default settings. Clearly I am doing something wrong but I don't know what. Under Options/prefrerences/controllers I have used both the modify button and the OK button. I have even reinput a couple buttons to see if that would do it. Nothing works. It says button 3 is mapped to "Flight Flaps Lower" but when I press it the guns fire as if it is still mapped to secondary weapons.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated!!

texasfighter,

Select your joystick from the drop down box
Select mode 1
Select button you wish to modify by hitting the button
Select modify
Using the menus, select which function you wish to map to that button
Click ok to save settings.

This is how I have done it.

Decide on one button to be your "Mode" switch button. Then from inside of each "Mode", map it to select the next logical mode.

Example: I chose Button 13 on my CH Throttle to map Modes 1-4 to.

In Mode1 map button_13 to select Mode2.

In Mode2 map button_13 to select Mode3.

In Mode3 map button_13 to select Mode4.

In Mode4 map button_13 to select Mode1.

You will have to physicaly choose each Mode 1-4 in the Controler Mapping utility in the clipboard. Then for example when you have chosen Mode3, map Mode4 to button 13. In game each time you press button 13 you switch to the next mode.
