Most skill based sport?

Which sport do you think requires the most 'skill' to be proficient? I'm not talking about athleticism.

I'd have to say Baseball, Golf, and Ice Hockey would be at the top.

I would have to vote golf, at which I play appallingly or not at all.

You wouldn't think it would be that hard, after all the ball isn't even moving when you strike it.

I had a friend liken it to chopping wood with an ax, but being able to hit exactly the same spot every single time.

The whole motion of the golf swing has so many components it is mind boggling.  The whole body has to move in a synchronized motion and any one part not in place will mess it up...the grip, arms, body twisting, knees, feet...

Then to top it off you have the different clubs, and need to be able to know what sort of loft and distance you can achieve, judging the slopes and distances of where you want to land.  Then you have to putt, which sucks.

I hate it.

  I've done some gymnastics and played hockey for many years and both require a high degree of skill but I'd place boxing above both. You'll learn real quick if you have skill or not and if you dont then you're best off shadow boxing.

  Golf is another sport I'd rate as needing a high skill level,looks easy but it's far from it.

  However underwater basket weaving has to take top spot,you now how hard it is to hold your breath and weave rattan???

    Oh and I almost forgot flyfishing,there's so much involved you need skills in many areas.

Billiards or chess.  In most other sports the participants physical size, agility, speed, and strength can be an advantage or disadvantage thus limiting the actual amount of skill needed.

On second thought what about curling.  Not only does it require skill, but it is also very tidy.

I would say MMA above boxing... I feel much more agility, hand/eye coordination. Harder to block kicks and punches, as well as grapples/tackles and pins then it is to block punches, correct?
