The Me410 was exactly what I was wanting, a heavily armed buff interceptor. When you consider what planes have the armament to intercept buffs at 20k - the list gets quite narrow above 15k, let alone catch and intercept.

If you count the Me410 as having the required performance, the list of other acceptable aircraft is quite long, performancewise.

What do you consider the minimum armament?

This is an update of extraordinary magnitude.

You have my gratitude.

Anyone have the speed chart of the 410 yet?

Thank you very much for the new Stuka speed tables too, I find that much more interesting/useful (in comparison to the older one and potential buffs to intercept with it... I think I found a new challenge!).

Turn radius?  Who cares, it is not a fighter.
An idiot who likes turning in bricks  :aok

Some of you need to step back and reassess just what the 410 is vs what you want it to be.  damn.   :headscratch:
hey chill bro, im just disappointed that its entirely different from what Moot and WMaker researched - the 337-340mph sea level speed.

And I thought I was the only one, I made a diving pass on a set of B-24s on the deck doing 400+, I sprung around and got in front and made another 10'clock diving pass doing 400 - BOOM the second the rounds hit me, not even accurate hits rather.

The Storch has no armor and I can see a pilot getting wounded on a few stray bullets, but 410 seems to be a firecracker if rounds hit anywhere near the front?

For some background on the 210/410.  I've done some reading on both models.  Both were disappointments to the LW.

Production was canceled of the BF110 due to the anticipated arrival of the 210/410.

When they entered service the 110 as I recall was put back into production because of the failures of the 210/410.
Also, when long range escorts were put into service the 410 was pulled by the LW from Bomber interception.

IMHO both models failed because as in the past they wanted the 210/410 to be an all purpose aircraft.

They didn't do anything partculary well and were a chore to fly specially the 210.  They just carried big guns.

We'd have been better off with the Beaufighter!  Big guns and it flew fairly well in many aspects from fighter, night fighter
to delivering bombs, rockets, and torpedos.  That was a successful multi use aircraft.  It operated in all theaters for the
duration of the war. (I just had to get that in)  :D

Doesn't anyone remember when the B-29's came out, and how easy they were to set on fire, because a bug? It happens EVERY NEW PLANE there are bugs that need to be worked out. That's why I never fly a new model until after the first patch to a new release.

It's brutal even in slashing attacks, one good bead of defensive fire to the front/front-upper fuselage and that's it.

I've always been able to take out high bombers with my Corsair...-1, -1A, -1C, -1D, -4... it takes a bit of patience.   :)
