The gear retraction and deployment animation is very well done on the Me410.  The animations for the gear and gear doors are all in sync rather than having them all play at the same time like on the other aircraft.  The doors open, the gear then retract or deploy, then the doors close.

What a hellish plane it must have been for the allies during the war.... that 50mm must have had many of men puckering in their seats... awesome plane.

Dadsgun if it appeared at all yes. It wasn't very good at all and actually pulled by the LW from bomber interception when long range escorts
started showing up with the bombers.  Poor maneuverability, speed mediocre at best.  BF 110 production was halted with the anticipated arrival of the 210/410.
However, production was started again on the 110 because of the disappointing performance of the 210/410.  Had big guns yes.  Had to fly it to the target.
That was the big problem.  The 210 had horrible flight charachteristics I've read.  The 410 was developed to cure the problems of the 210.  It did somewhat.
There was just to many faults to correct and make it a viable fighter.  It failed.  Big time.  And the LW as usual muddled up everything by trying to make it a jack of
all trades.  They created a nice target.  So during sometime in 1944, the 410 really wasn't a big issue for Bombers.  It rarely if ever showed up when bombers were escorted
deep into europe.

I think it had the Me 410 pilots puckering just as much as the bomber crews it was intended to shoot down.  The BK 5 cannon was supposed to give the Me 410 the means to engage the bombers from a safe stand off range beyond the fire of the bomber's defensive guns but instead pilots had to close dangeriously close to the bombers in order for the BK 5 cannon to be effective resulting in the Me 410 pilot having to close within the bomber's defensive cone of fire and the BK 5 had a tendency to jam after a couple of rounds.

In AH, the BK 5 cannon will be far more effective than it was in real life.

It is the premier feild de-acker of all times. And the BK5 can take out all light GV. It took about 6 50mm to take down the radar and I quit counting on buildings, ammo and fuel at about 8 rounds. But, using it's 20mm only took a 1-2 second burst on all of those objects becasue they have some amount of penetration.

The 50mm is a scaled up Minengeschoss with 335g of HTA (Hexogen, TNT and aluminum powder). Like the 30mm Minengeschoss it has a thin steel casing, soft metal nose and relys on the detonation to do the damage. This is why one round takes off a B17 wing at the root.

BK5 50mm does 54.68lbs of damage.  MK103 30mm does 12.99lbs of damage.  MK108 30mm does 11.71lbs of damage.  Hispano Mk II 20mm does 4.06lbs of damage.  Browning .50 does 1.17lbs of damage.

I have no doubt the performance here will be far greater than what it really was, but I have had some decent fun with it so far in game though....

I was taking some long range shots at bombers with it which worked fairly well with minimal loss of trajectory...will need some practice.

I look forward to flap fighting with it since that seems where it may be decent at and most of all its not going to be an "easy" mode type of plane to win with and should get some decent fights out of it.. at best it will test you for sure.

wanted to see if I could get within 400 and see how if the Bk5 would penetrate or not.

did anybody notice how many "special" players were trying to kill tanks with the 410 at a1 yesterday?  look at the stats  tanks/werbies had almost 1/4 of all the kills on 410's.

I tried it offline and it worked.

I tried it too, offline. Sure you can kill tanks, but the Ju 87G-2 guns are far more effective....
