Why is the Mosquito Bomber Perked?

I prefer to do it in the LWA where there is a chance at combat.  Yes, it is less efficient, but it is also much more enjoyable.

And let's not forget that shooting down enemy fighters gives you a lot of perks too. One kill of a Spit 16 in the Ki-67 is worth 6 additional perks at balanced modifier

He should have climbed away from you.  He can go up higher than the Me262.

probably didnt have the fuel he flew 4 sectors to bomb bases i was taking off from then i chased him at least another 4.

Depends on what loadout he took, but will max fuel eight sectors is about 30% of the fuel I think.

Once again it depends on the loadout.  If the Mossie has dropped its bombs it should be able to go over 40,000ft.  Me262's list ceiling is 32,000ft, but it can be nursed higher.  The problem the Me262 has is that even if it does match the altitude of the Mossie, the Mossie is more agile at extreme altitudes.

I am still trying to collect some bomber perks to get the Mossie XVI out the hangar. One Boston delivery got me a 1/3 of the way. Need to bring myself to do it twice more...

Perked farmed this when We had the Late War "Off Hours" Arena switcheroo thing going on.  Somebody or other had just steamrolled the map and it was reset with about 1/2 hour before the scheduled reset to Off Hours.  Not many people logged back on, so I made the switch to Bishies (they only had 1 player on their side).  In the hangar before take off, the Perk Point Bonus was 5.0!  Climbed to 9.5k and dropped on three different towns and landed right before the reset.

Hi All,

Just wondering why a decision was made to perk the bomber variant of the Mosquito? The decision to perk it, and the fact that it's unarmed and easily caught by the late war fighters seems to have made it a hanger queen.

It is a mild perk, I feel more to deter it from being used in mass for CAS at a beseiged airbase than because above 20k it's extremely fast.

Now that it has been out for a littel while now though, I don't think it should loose its perk cost, but I believe it could be lowered... imho, if it didn't have the ability to sink a CV in a single pass with a full formation and heavy ord load, its cost could be halved.

It's a fun plane---aside from the 4k, carries 2 500's. I finally figured there's no reason to do a formation if you're doing the 4k's......1 4k egg is enough to kill whatever you're aiming at anyhow. A 51 who latched onto me over a base at 16k chased me fora sector+....never got within 1000. Gets up to alt very fast as well, wep goes forever...fun plane

CVs and SBs arre the only reason I can think of for taking a formation.

yeah... you're not the only one who yawns at that prospect.  Boring and cheap.  But hey... to each their own.  

btw... the Mossi B Mk 16 is perked because of speed.  No other reason to mention.

ki67 surprisses most ppl they thinks itsa matchstick (wich it is) with the 12.7mm guns and a top gun of 20mm it can make very nice and quick work of the unsuspecting attcker 2 p51ds and crappy bomb damage got my 35 +perks one run

on that note, I *really* wish HTC would tone down the "insta-flames" on the G4M.  Yes, it was noted to have flamed up quickly but under the current circumstances in AH it seems a bit too easy.  It isnt even worth making mention  of the 20mm defense guns.

Tell that too the 3 Me163s that got shot down on a single shorty. well its was 2 dead and 1 managed to ditch with 1/2 a wing. I lost no drones in those attacks.

What is the range of a 262? Seems like I run out of fuel pretty fast in it so am I flying it wrong? I may give the Mosquito bomber another try but I am not really a bomber guy.
