certainly not 28 feet long.....if the guy in the pic is 6'5" I would say more like 19 feet....and close to a hundred years old....if not more then a hundred.

pisses me off seeing him hanging like that......

the said They were "forced" to shoot him......bullcrap they just didn't want to make the effort to capture him....

a gator that big would be easy to catch, well maybe not "easy" but certainly achievable.

They could have probably shot it with a knockout drug instead of killing it.

its difficult to use drugs on an alligator...or any  crocodilian for that matter...if I remember correctly it is a chancy thing to try to drug them.....

nets and a few people all it takes.

if Steve Irwin could capture a real 28 foot croc which are far more aggressive then gators....no reason why they could not have.

except fear and laziness.

Wow, I'm furious that they killed it, I bet you that it was easily older than anyone involved in the incident as well. Learn to respect your elders  :old:

Ya it's bullcrap.....but typical of people...... kill what they fear...... kill what they don't understand....kill anyone who does not go along.......kill an innocent man who happens to open his door......kill a bunch of people who just want to live away from the screwed up society....kill a pregnant woman and her unborn child......talk about peace and the right to life...but then say they are going to kill the enemies.....

people are wretched things...the longer I live the more disgusted I get.......

It's sad people move into these areas animals have made thier home and are bothered by them just doing what they have to do to survive.
We have the same problem in NJ. People move into the mountains and are bothered by bears.

Have a similar problem here on the shore of Maryland. New Joisey peeps, keep moving south especially during their summer migration. :D

Was watching a show called Gator Boys, where they capture gators with almost nothing. :uhoh Then takem to wildlife sanctuaries, or release in the everglades.

edit: Just looked at pic. Think if they had called the gator boys, they might have lost one. Whew, he's a biggin. :bolt:

Gatorboys is an awesome show :aok....although I don't believe they release any back into the wild, pretty sure they bring them to their sanctuary....they use a catch pole that's it....but with a 15' + gator you will need more then that :rofl
