Lets hope our hispanic friends don't hear about this, that's quite a few boots and belts

Too late, I already see an entire suit, belt, boots and wallet made out of that sucker.  I just wish they had taken more care in killing the alligator, they damaged a lot of the hide that could be used.

It's sad people move into these areas animals have made thier home and are bothered by them just doing what they have to do to survive.
We have the same problem in NJ. People move into the mountains and are bothered by bears.

Just because people already killed off any predator in your area before you were alive does not mean that it did not happen.

Once again I do not understand how people become upset about an animal being killed.

Ink do you eat meat?

Being an apex predator means that you must predate from time to time.

my issue is with unnecessary killing of animals.... especially one as old as that gator. :aok

I have far more respect for animals then most people.

Why would you not kill the old ones?  Just like fish you keep the large ones and throw back the small ones so that they can become large.  Your logic makes sense not does.

That Gator wasn't killed in Alabama. It isn't even gator season here yet and they only issue fewer than a couple of hundred permits a year for one or two total.

Also there would not be a KTBS chopper flying over Lake Weiss in Alabama. KTBS is a television station in the western US. The picture with the one hanging up is also not indicative of the terrain in Northeastern Alabama and Lake Weiss is too far north and not connected to any water source with Alligators in it.

I moved to FLA in 1977, gators were on the endangered list....when I left in '95, you could buy gator-tail nuggets at a drive-thru in Yeehaw Junction (tasted like chicken to ME, anyway)

my logic does not make sense......really..... killing something that has been around that long...just to kill it makes sense to you?

killing an animal just to kill it is acceptable to you?

well I am glad my logic makes perfect sense to me....I eat what I kill....and would only kill an animal as a last resort....and then only if it was an immediate threat to human life.(and that depends on the human)

maybe you should think about what you said there a bit....actually spend some time thinking about what you said...you may find what you said is absurdly ignorant.

and comparing a fish that's been around for a couple years...to an alligator that's been around probably close to a century.....

this is one of the biggest problems with people that I cant stand..and makes me ashamed to call myself human....they have no respect for life.....any life...except there own of course.....

you one of the type that think because you are human you have the right to kill whatever is "beneath" you?

in my eyes..... because we are humans...it is our duty to take care of this world and the animals that are in it....

one last thing...just because we can do something.......does not always mean we should.

Do you kill all that you eat? Do you have anything made out of leather?

That gators hide is most likely going to be turned into something Ack posted. Its tail is most likely going to be eaten. Anything left is going to be used as feed or compost.

Not a lot of that gator is going to be wasted. Not that it matters.

wooohooooo

we have a bad man here..... a gun toting true red blooded American.... :rofl

any coward could shoot the thing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok once again I have allowed myself to be brought down to the most ignorant of  human thinking

just so you all know....anyone who thinks it is ok to kill that gator just for the sake of killing it....should be feed to it....

this will be my last response to anyone and EVERYONE who thinks that it is cool to kill for no other reason except to kill.

if we were there together and you thought you could shoot that magnificent creature for no other reason but to kill it....well you would have to kill me along side it....otherwise that gator would be eating real good that night....and I wont need a gun to get his food :aok
