I care not for what politicians have decided our military OOB is or where we are deployed. The forces are at the whim of the politicians and they know this at the moment they think about joining. The day they join, and every day of service afterwards. I have no time for anyone who complains that their son/daughter/ brother / husband/ wife has been killed on active duty. You sign up for that, you know the score when you take the equivalent of the shilling in each respective country.
It's not to say by any means I have no sympathy for the families who have lost loved ones, on the contrary, i feel immense comradeship and humility. These young guys do a phenomenally difficult job and with little training have to face life and death decisions on a daily basis. Did you do that when you were 18. I would suggest cutting them some slack
