Greenland melting?
« on: July 29, 2012, 10:53:28 PM »
Yea, I don't care about it...

The real question is, how come no one has taken this time to go searching for airplanes that went down in Greenland during this time of less ice? There should be a few more P38s and a couple B17s there for certain!

It's tourism will undoubtedly improve

As ice core studies show, Greenland suffers major melting in roughly 150 year cycles... Guess how many years since the the last big melt....

NASA was eating cold crow over their recent panic button reaction to a normal occurrence.

Like I said, I care little about the melting. I'm wondering why this melting wasn't taken advantage of!

Everyone gets worked up because news media likes to ignore facts and stir people up.

I remember a discussion from one of my earlier college history courses discussing the path that Hannibal took through the mountains into Italy, and why nobody has been able to find it.  It's because it is frozen over by a glacier now, but wasn't when they made the journey.

I don't see Denmark giving Epps the go ahead after he screwed the pooch with Glacier Girl.   I also don't envision anyone from the recovery team, being allowed to set foot on Greenland either.

Wait, I'm missing the connection, how is Epps involved in this (or any new) recovery?  Because otherwise I second the OP, why aren't they looking for the treasure?

A quick Google search turned up this blast from the AH past.

Some strange people I've never heard of before talking about Pat Epps and Glacier Girl

Glacier Girl's Squadmates are many meters deeper in the ice than when glacier girl was recovered.
