If anyone is interested. I have a new project working on a 150 mph scale mustang. Thought some of you guys might have an interest.

Very cool.  I find everyone that trys to make their mustang model very fast cuts about every other corner in their build, so I'm wondering how it will look (and more importantly, fly) when done right.  The last one I saw I think the fuselage was poorly constructed and it was starting to twist in the tail and disintigrate, but maybe it was just excessive fatigue and not craftsmanship.

I really like the maintenance/access hatch touches on the elevators (that's insane, I would personaly do it in the paint and decal phase, but you're actualy incorporating it into the physical surface), they're a little larger than the actual ones (I wish the real ones were as lush as yours though) but I assume it's because it may likely have a practical purpose for being that way on your flying model....  and, with such attention to that detail (all my asuming here), I'm surprised you didn't notch out the trim tabs on the ailerons and elevators too.

PS - Don't forget you rudder (minus the v. stab) should be/apear fabric with a notch in it for the trim tab that should be/apear to be metal, too.  :aok
.perfectionist-off

Good luck, are you aiming to finish this up during this winter or pushing it through with another plan/e in mind for the off-season?

THis kit comes with a composite fuse that already had the hatches in it. I am covering it in Flite Metal to replicate a scale mustang build I did two years ago. This one will be an everyday flyer for me. The big one is located at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlHdJQL4AGE

I can't really make this one scale so I decided to just make a blazing fast version. I should have it in the air in about two weeks.

I got the decals in today along with the additional flite metal. We should have this bird in the air in the next two weeks. I will post a video of her maiden.

That looks great.  It's hard to get the metal finish to look right.  I always had some sort of application deviation that led to a ripple or something right in the dang middle of the application that ruined the effect.  I probably just didn't spend enough time prepping the surface.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Spending that kind of time and detail on it, I sure would be terrified of flying it and having an "oops"

I would like a few opinions. I was going to paint the nose red but after seeing it in its aluminium finish I think it might look better if I left it alone.

What do you guys think. Aluminium or red?
