So a rare day off from my research yesterday and decided to go punting down the river Cam. In typical British fashion, the weather decides to go from warm and sunny to storm in a flash.

anyway - overhead there was a WW1 era biplane (Duxford is 20 miles away) and I cannot seem to figure out what it is - I know that Duxford has the SE5a and the Bristol. . .and i am tempted to say this was the Bristol. . .but can anyone identify?

It's a De Havilland Moth of some description, probably a Tiger Moth given the photo location.

That's a Tiger-Moth.

I believe that's the yellow one based at Duxford.

Is that a yoga pose in the first picture?

The televised Olympics enable us to enjoy and appreciate much of British culture, as do these pictures?

I had the opportunity to take a ride in a Tiger Moth as a teenager in the 60s. It was in the dead of winter in Ohio but I didn't care it was great anyway. A fellow named Joe Margo owned it. Joe is long dead now but he had many cool old planes most of witch we let sit in a field and rot down.

If only I could go to Britain. This makes me very jealous of you Brits Ruah. You've got the Olympics, great WWI-WWII museums and aircraft. You have wonderful historic landmarks. I will make it there someday, but for now I sent in America envying you.

Oh, I am not British, I am a german-jew who was raised all my life in Japan and after hopping around the world studying (france, japan, NY) and working all over (pakistan, congo, zambia, yemen, etc), am in the UK working on my ph.d. . . although I love it here, getting pretty tired of it, may move again soon. . .who knows.

anyway, the IWM (Imperial War Museum) has a program called Vintage flying experiences where you can be taken up in vintage aircraft, and surprise surprise, they have a tiger moth. So yah, probably that.
