Skyrim V the Elder Scrolls
« on: July 30, 2012, 08:27:45 AM »
mk .. saw some o' the you tube video's ... thought about it for a bit..

..jumped in .. even wife got a copy and we both did late nite session yesterday :)

Rationalization: It's a warmup for Guild Wars 2, it's been awhile since we did Dragon Age, it looks awesome, lotsa content to do, etc.

I like the fact that you can in fact build a character very similar to Gandalf .. heck he can even wear heavy armor and be a tank mage ..sorta.

I also get a kick out of Ninja Norn idea ..sneakin in heavy armor and weilding a double blade 2-hand axe gives a whole nuther interpretation of 'sneak attack' .. lotta one shot kills once the skills improve a bit.

Soo ..ya .. I got sucked in.

I was hesitant about skyrim since i'm not really into the whole dragons and magic genre.  Once I played it, I was hooked right away.  Its an awesome game.  The amount of things you can do is amazing.

If you play it on a PC, you should at some point install some mods.

You should also check out this thread (maybe only the last 4 pages or so ;) ): http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,317999.0.html

Altho the new update to Adobe Flash seems to be crashing Skyrim 2-3 times a day .. Steam and the way Mods work is awesome.

Yes .. I have 12 in atm .. the real water is amazing.
Took out the realistic lighting mod as it just is too dark at night and in dungeons
.. human eye adapts so it should not be black if there is a candle around, much less a lantern or a fire..
..heck I have driven a car down the hiway with only stars out to guide me ..in Montana .. long ago ..just to see if I could.
(no lights on ... was workin on my 'sneak' ability at high speed :)
