2 Aug 2012 Thursday 8th AF vs Luftwaffe Mission
« on: July 30, 2012, 05:08:50 PM »

We will be conducting an 8th Air Force Mission vs Luftwaffe Mission in the Allied vs Axis Arena this Thursday night at 9PM EST/8PM CST.  All are welcome to attend and participate either as 8th or LW.  This is a multi-life event.  Bring your pocket full of quarters because we'll make you go broke before your done.

8th Air Force Targets :
A42 (13,5 kp 2)
A76 (12,5 kp 3)
A77 (12,4 kp 9)

8th AF Launch Bases :

A9 (10,11)

Luftwaffe Defense Bases :
A38 (11,7)
A41 (12,5)
A78 (13,4)

There will be other active bases for players before and after the event.  For Mission purposes, please utilize the 8th and LW Airfields for mission sorties.

Aircraft Order of Battle :

8th AF
B-17
B-24
P-38J
P-38L
P-47D-11
P-47D-25
P-47D-40
P-47N
P-51B
P-51D

LW
Bf-109G-6
Bf-109G-14
Bf-109K-4
Bf-110G-2
FW-190A-8
Fw-190D-9
Fw-190F-8
Ta-152
Me-410

All Allied aircraft are enabled at both bases.  Bf-109s are enabled at A38.  FW-190s and Ta-152s are enabled at A41.  Bf-110s and Me-410s are enabled at A78.

It is requested that Axis players refrain from going feet dry over England until 30 minutes after launch.  Axis players are free to pursue Allied aircraft across the English Channel and to English bases.

For those accustomed to Main Arena settings, there will be some slight differences.  For those accustomed to AvA settings, there will a couple of differences.  For those accustomed to Special Events settings, there will be some differences.

Fuel Burn - 1.0
No dot radar for friendly or enemy
Darbar will be a 2 minutes delay
Killshooter will be ON
Friendly and Enemy Icon will be 3K
Auto-calibration for bombers

For those flying 8th AF, we will have 2 loaded Missions for 8th AF Bombers and Fighters.  Just join the either Mission by selecting which aircraft you want.

For those flying Luftwaffe, there is no official LW Commander.  That is an open position to be filled.  The LW Commander needs to have a plan of action and to get LW players organized to stop 8th AF.

I would like to thank the AvA staff for allowing us to use their arena.  :salute

Good hunting.

What is the (delayed) dar bar atltude?
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

You will see a darbar but it will be 2 minutes behind.  When you see the darbar pop up in a sector, then you'll know the enemy or friendly has been there for two minutes.  This setting adds a little guesswork to direction and speed plus size of force rather than having all the info in realtime.

I understand that, but what is the dar height, ie. height below which an aircraft won't set off the dar bar at all?

200 ft. and below

We will be above 20,000 ft so radar will pick us up.

The AvA lets you get more authentic then the MA settings.

Debbie Downer won't be there either, maybe you can meet her for lunch.

I think you're scared.

Bring that squad and watch them get wiped out by real pilots, not that crap that comes outta Perdue.

Yep, you're scared.

Sure worked good in the AvA, last week.  They set it up exactly as we wanted it, everyone played fair, everyone had fun.

You're scared arent ya?

You should be there, with your squad.  If you don't, well then your scared.

I think you're scared.

Is that what Perdue produces now, scardycats?

Pfffffffft.........scaredycat .
