I hope everyone does fly it.  Then it can be perked and we will have something else to squeak about besides the map, the LA7, the language filter, and why it's only 23 degrees this morning.

I'll try it out once or twice.

Then I'll just enjoy killing it in my P-47.

ok, make it 100 points and the 1000 points drops to 500 imo.

There's 9 planes I would have to pick from to fly once or twice a month- late in the month.

Actually i was thingking around 30-50.. thanik about it thats about 10-13 GOOD sorties. or about 20-28 so so sorties. thats alot of flights just to get 1 plane thats only SOMEWHAT better than the "free" ones.

That's 9 planes I might get to see a few times a month. Still, half the plane list would be unavailable most of the time. That seems extreme to me. I am currently in the "wait-and-see" mode, but rest assured any plan that eliminates half the plane set from me without some sort of compensation for doing so has effectively weeded me out. I don't mind missing out on the uber stuff, even take the big cannon birds away, but I would never stand for losing the P-51D, 109G-10, or the 190D-9.

I flew something like an hour a day this past tour, and have maybe 6 sorties this month. I average less than 5 points a sortie whether I land my kills or not. That means I might have as much as 18 points, but more likely in the 10 range (dunno, I only check it when one of these threads pops up). If I was a new guy starting up this would mean I would have to fly how many missions to get a 51D, 190D, or G10? 30 sorties?

Not trying to knock the legs out from under your concept, Pirado, but I hope HTC has a better plan. Even Wobble's modification won't bring it down to a tolerable level to me.

Would I happen to be a cruel person, I might just say: "Fly more and fly better, thus gaining the needed perk points".

Most probably the perk point limits will lie somewhere rather low so that Joe Average can fly a perk plane now and then, too. This will lead to the top pilots having perk planes available quite often. I think this is all well and good because the perk planes are there to be flown, eventually, and not only by the very elite (and the people with too much time in their hands).

Hmm... so, either we see perkie rides and their seal clubing pilots scattered around every day in large amounts or small amounts?  What does it matter?   Either the good pilots fly em most of the time and the newbies flyu em once in a while or... The good/score potato pilots fly em seldom and the newbies hardly....never?

LOL... If we just had em available the last day or so then everyone would get an equal chance to try em out in a "fair" arena.   Squads could use em, as a squad.   You would probly get all u wanted (or at least more) sorties by just having em only available the last 2 day or so of the tour to everyone.

It depends- you want to tell me what you mean specifically by "fly better"? As to flying more, I have no more time left.

I am not what you call a newbie, I can handle the fighters fairly well, but there is nothing else in the game that interests me. That is neither good nor bad, it just is. Your remark seems to be saying that somehow I am not playing "right". What is right? I usually pop 2 enemy per flight average, sometimes 3-4. How much better do I need to be? Are we going to say that I need to average 4, and have frequent sorties of 7-8 kills? Doesn't that seem a bit extreme?

What about the Tempest?  Four Hispanos, very fast, fast climb, lots of ord.  This may be the next dweeb plane.  Dora will take some skill to fly well.

Tempest will be a perk.  Latest word is that the Dora will not be.

Just the fact that the Tempest will be a perk means that the arena will not be full of them.

We have no idea what the prices will be for the perk rides yet, so lets calm down until we know.

At least theres one big difference between tempest and dora: turbo laser cannons and regular peashot cannons.
