G940 button lights support
« on: August 07, 2012, 07:47:27 AM »
I have a G940.  I like it a lot.  I'd like it even more if Aces High supported the button lights.  For those unfamiliar with the stick, the throttle body has a set of 8 backlit buttons that can be red, orange, green or dark.  I'd like to be able to have my gear lights, bomb door lights, etc change color to reflect their correct status.  I'm sure other G940 users would like this too.

Also for those unfamiliar with the stick, I know the G940 has taken a lot of flack over the reversal "bug" (in reality a designed-in noise reduction "feature") and Logitech's failure to deal with it.  However I have to say, I've flown it for 18 months now, and it's a really awesome setup.  Once you fly with proper force-feedback you'll never go back.  I only wish my pedals were FF as well.

I bet this would be possible if the led states were a direct x command.  If they are then it would work but the mapping in Aces high would need definitive options. Example would be "landing gear up" and a separate map would be needed for "landing gear down".

If these commands were available to us then it would be up to the Logitech software to map a command for a LED off, and a separate
command for LED on.  I am not sure how the LEDs are controlled in the G940 if the are visible in windows control panel you may have a shot at doing this.
