Invisible Tanks
« on: August 08, 2012, 12:19:59 PM »
This is probably just a graphics setting, but at medium to long range tanks are invisible to me in ground vehicles. I can see a round being fired but it appears to be from the ground. When I get close enough, the tank "materializes" but that doesn't happen very often because apparently they can see me just fine at long ranges.  :lol

The problem occurs regardless of the tank, sight, or zoom setting.

A DXDIAG output might be helpful.  If you could also tell me what in-game "Graphic Detail" settings you are using, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks Skuzzy. I'll get them posted this evening after I'm home from work.

Ok, this appears to be a laptop.  The video chip only has 256MB of dedicated video RAM.

You need to uncheck every option in Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced, check all the option with the word "Disable" in them in the "Options->Graphic Detail" page.  Uncheck the rest.

Make sure you disable anti-aliasing, if you have any enabled in "Video Settings".

The game will not be pretty, but that should help.

Thanks, it is a laptop. I'll try the uber basic settings and see what happens. Although I should add, I don't have any problems with anything plane oriented and plow along at 60 FPS.

Check the distance slider as well.
