Almost every single picture you see in astronomy uses "fake" colors. Images are taken in several spectral bands and combined. Often, it includes bands in wavelengths outside the visible light range. In any case, the combined "colored' image is tweaked in order to enhance visible details - the point is not to let you know how it looks if you stood there, but to allow you to see better what is there.
