My friends plane

  The wife & I were in this plane 2 weeks before the crash... Les was badly injured, but is doing fine now.  :salute

As soon as I saw 4 people in the plane it was obvious what was going to happen...  The takeoff roll takes forever, and it looks like the terrain may be slightly rising?  In any case, overloaded plane for conditions (high density altitude) in mountain flying is a recipe for disaster.

Glad they lived.  Lots of people making that exact same mistake don't survive.

I'm glad they all survived and I hope recovery is full for all injuries. That pilot had tons of warning and time to abort. Bad mistake.

Notoriously poor high alt performance, maybe the pilot thought his son and his friends were a couple years younger (and a hundred pounds lighter) than they were? 

I'm glad everyone is OK and all will be well, but ohbuy... don't want to jump on the bandwagon, glad your freind is OK, wonderful little plane he lost there.

This video is being discussed on every pilot website in the English speaking world, and beyond. I hope when I come to grief no one posts it online. Slim chance of that as there's usually at least three Gopros on every flight.

In my case I can see exactly how it could happen to me. So I won't pass judgement.

That engine didnt sound right. Im not an expert but wouldnt you expect more RPMs in the last part of your take off? Thank the Lord they are all OK.
