A 2-key command every single sortie is annoying. I bet it wouldn't take them more than 10 minutes to implement it.

A 2-key command to turn it off every single sortie would be annoying.  I bet it wouldn't take them any time at all to not implement it.

I find it time-consuming to shake it twice when I'm finished, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to look for a way to automatically do it...

I would think that there are many other things that could be improved, in game, without wasting time to coad this.  2-key command or mapping it to joystick button are about as simple as it gets.

Most folks do not play this game for the easy factor.  It would be silly to say that anyone did.  I try to clutter my field of view with as little as possible.

I like it, but it's pretty easy to hit CTRL+D

David Wales would have wished for auto screenshot toggle option enable.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I don't have a free button for it and would push it only once every sortie.  No need to turn it off and on.

I turn it on and off every time I hear a snapping sound  :D

Same.

Otherwise, I leave it off.

Most times, a combination of sight, sound, and flight characteristics will indicated what is broken, anyhow.

Hey genius, if you don't check the box you won't have to turn it off every sortie and it will be just as it is now.

If your on a fight your not going to be looking to see what your damage list is like. You had better be trying to kill the other guy.

It's not a bad wish, and while it may not take a whole lot of time to implement, I do not really see the point to devote the time to do it.  If anything, I would say that CTRL + D could probably be removed from fighters.  For most bombers, you could probably keep it due to the simple fact that there would be more eyes on the plane that would be able to actually check/see for the damage to be listed.  A single fighter pilot however would not be able to.  Then again, maybe not.  In real life a pilot  probably be able to tell if he lost a component and what-not due to how the plane "feels".  Since we can't "feel" how our planes respond (though we can see), CTRL + D should stay. :aok  So scratch my "remove from fighters" bit.

If your wish is implemented, okay. :aok  If not, oh well. :aok  It would not bother me either way, especially since you listed the ability to still use the standard CTRL + D method. :salute

In the game of AH2:

If I lose a flap, I can tell which, when I deploy them, from the way my plane lists when landing.

If I lose an aileron, I can tell by the decrease in the roll rate of my aircraft.

If I lose an elevator, I can tell by a decrease in pitch control.

If I lose rudder, I can tell by lack of yaw control.

Guns can be diagnosed by lack if muzzle flash and sometimes the rhythmic staccato of firing the guns is not so rhythmic anymore.

Gray smoke?  Fuel.

Black smoke?  Oil.

White smoke?  Coolant.

Gears?  There is an indicator for that.

There is even an ammo counter.

I'm not siding with the wish, but I'm not against it either.  I'm neutral.  I was doing a rather bad job of playing "Devils Advocate"(?).
