never heard of her until last year and saw 20mins of her standup routine from the early 60s. surprisingly modern and very, very funny :aok

One of America's first female stand-ups in a business dominated by men.  She was a strong person on and off the stage to handle hecklers as well as club managers who wanted to low-ball her pay for the gig.  She was also a prime act in Vegas in a man's world. 

If you really want to see what kahones it takes to be in the spot light for 5 to 10 minutes--go sign up for a Monday or Tuesday Night Open Mic Night at the local comedy venue...see how well you do your first few times.

Steal material?  The crowd will know that too.

When you are up to 20 minutes you can be an opener...over 45 and you are a headliner.
