I love the whole Naval warfare thing..
AKA's, APA's, Fleet Oilers, making replenishment underway, cool stuff..
So many possibilities.. I think that is a bit much for this game tho..

But, just Invasion fleets appearing off the enemy shore, instead of a
carrier motorboating back and forth would be a Massive improvement..
Pretty sure they will do this eventually.. Would add tons to the game..

Anyone have any advice re: figuring out where the supply barges start their journeys? Neighbouring islands? HQ island? Other?
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Other.  ;)

Their starting point is just a spot in the water where they spawn; the path is part of the terrain, just like the roads and railways, and are added by the guy who created the map. There is no way to know where the spawn point is, unless you hang around a base that is supplied by one and watch where it's coming from and trace back - and then wait around that spot for it to spawn and see if you guessed right.

OH HELL YEAH!!! :aok and some  . . with perks and beer . . and smoke for the existing small craft too for screening landings and ships under fire! Maybe way down the road smoke and star shell for the 5"r's too, would be awesome to illuminate in a night battle even if just in the custom arena's and say a gv spawn is being over whelmed and the friendly vh is down,, if ships are close enough they could provide smoke to cover them til their vh is back up. If some one is willing to show me how to help with making or creating these things I'd appreciate that, there's got to be a better way to make skins than what I'm trying to do so if some one know's how to make skins I'd appreciate a hand with that too... Von Messa, you was on that AO Monongahela? I like this post and think it's a hell of an idea!!!

While the idea is great to add other ships, it would be totally useless.  Everyone would hide them just like they hide cvs.

I think the idea is they would be coasters or convoys on fixed supply routes, not player controlled. maybe chuck in the odd flak ship too :uhoh

who would own them though, and how would you know? by the ensign? :headscratch:

+1 Invasion Fleets
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Always thought they create two different kinds of fleets, an carrier attack fleet (with a carrier, but no amphib capability) and an assault fleet, with no carrier (or an escort carrier, perhaps) but several cruisers (with amphib craft enabled). Also, I think it would be cool to add some support ships -- specifically, a tanker, an ammo ship, and a troop ship -- to each fleet that would function in the roles currently performed by the ammo bunkers, fuel depots, and barracks. They could all be modelled on the Liberty Ship, which had tanker and non-tanker versions. Sink one, and it would have the same affect on the fleet as the land bunkers have to airfields.
